Query Change

I have made a change to a query and would like to transport. Normally I get the option to put the change in a transport. In this case I did not. How can I ensure that this change is part of the transport? Thanks

Hi Niten,

You need to have a separate transport request assigned for BEx changes. If you already had transported the query it would not allow you to make changes till the time you create a new request and assign it in Transport connection.

If it did not ask you for assigning the request there must already be a request created for capturing changes to the BEx objects, you can view the same in Transport connection in RSA1.

hope it helps.

Hi yes it will be the first time that I will be transporting the query. So is it just the first time that you create the query that it asks me for the transport? If so how can I check that the change that I made today will be part of the transport? Thanks

Hi Niten,

If this is the first time then you will have to collect the query in RSA1 > Transport Connection. All query elemenst need to be assigned to a development package. We usually create one dev package/class per InfoProvider, and all queries on the InfoProvider are assigned the same dev class. You can create a dev class in SE80 if it is not already set up. An easy way to see this is by clicking the button with Bex and Truck on this same screen.

Hope this helps...

Hi,

If it is the first time you want to transport the query go to Transport connection in RSA1 and there is an option to create a Transport request for BEx objects.

Create a transport request for the same and include the BEx query for the transport.

Hope it helps.

Thanks for that I do have a transport request created and have added objects of the query to that transport request in the past. Today we have made a change to the formula of a calculated key figure and are now ready to transport. My concern is since it did not ask me for a request that this will change will be part of the transport. I have gone to SE09 and just need to know how I can check in the transport if todays change is there.

Since the query elements appears as GUIDs, it is not easy to check and find your objects in the SE09 reqeust view. I think it will be best to collect your query in the Transport Connection and check for any element taht is not assigned a request. This way you can be sure.

Hope this helps...

Hi Niten,

The process is a bit different for queries as the transport request does not pop up during query chnage and save. Is this the first time you will be transporting this query?
