WM Post Goods Receipt from IB delivery BEFORE Transfer Order creation (without HU management)

Hi,

I would like to hear your experience in the area of inbound delivery process based on PO,
for WM managed storage location without HU management, and if this is possible:
-My client want to do a PGR (post goods receipt) for inbound delivery before TO creation
-In my experience (and based on what I learned in SCM630 Warehouse management course)
this is impossible without HU management, but I have information that some consultants
he also works with think and know that this is possible and have implemented this.

Our instructor at SAP - while attending official course, has been very clear about this,
she said that this is definitely impossible scenario when using IB deliveries.

However, there is an option in HU management config to do PGR before TO creation.
These consultants think that this option also applies in cases without HU management.

Is it really possible that this config works without HU management on SLoc?

I'd like to hear your experience, thoughts, and if someone had this requirement too
if you solved it or it really isn't possible without HU management.

As far as I know it is possible through the customizing below: Please note that there are limitations if QM is also active for the material

Hi,

whenever I tried.... it never worked. AFAIK this really only works with HUM on storage location level, I wouldn't be unhappy if I am wrong (but as I am also an SCM630 instructor, I hope I am correct ).

Hello Claudio,

We do not have QM active on our materials.

I have already set this customizing option but it doesn't seem to affect
my IB process w/o HUM - we still have to get WM status to C before posting.

Are you sure this option is applicable to non-HU environments?

Exactly, I attended this course in Hungary and my instructor was very clear,
NOT POSSIBLE. I guess that SCM660 HUM course deals with this but we
don't want to use HUM.

Thanks Claudio,

I've tested it today and it definitely isn't possible without HUM.

Hello,

I believe it is possible!. You will have to do some modification//standard SAP customization

(1) Go to OLML---->Basic shipping function----->Configure global shipping data

Flag  document flow update. This customisation make sure to close your IBD and update document flow with material document when you proceed  GR with MIGO

(2) When you try to do the MIGO you may get error message

"Qty to be posted is greater than maximum postable quantity": message VLA308

Go to OVM1 and add the entry and make this message as warning or blank)

(3) Also to get rid of message VLA 314---- "inbound delivery item &1 is relevant for WM; use inbound delivery dialog"

add the entry in view V_160MVL_SYS using SM30 and make it blank/warning

If still system does not allow you to post the GR using MIGO, then apply the source code correction as per SAP note 1050944

!!ALL THE BEST!!

Hi Milind,

Thanks for the reply - as I understood you, this process involves posting GR from MIGO,
and not IB delivery. That's not what I want, I have a requirement to post from VL32(N) since
customer wants to use a custom transaction already created for IM, and doesn't want to
change this transaction after switching to WM.
I know it's a little strange to make entire settings towards only one custom t-code, but that's
the requirement.
This t-code allows you to enter received quantities and then post GR from HH device.
Customer doesn't want to use standard SAP transactions for RF devices in WM since
these don't allow posting before TO creation.

Now it maybe is a bit clearer what is the request, and that posting must be done from that
t-code which means that posting must be done through VL32N (because that t-code simulates it).

Hello Mihailo,

Although you use custom transaction code, I think it will call same goods movement BAPI that MIGO  transaction uses. No matter whether you use VL32N or MIGO or any custom transaction, goods movement BAPI will be same in all the cases. I agree with you that in standard SAP it is not possible  Hence there could be some customize solution. You need to do some development or find user exit. Please refer the issue to SAP and take their suggestion.

  All the Best

Milind

I came across this thread and for information it is possible to prove the instructors wrong. What you do is create a partner HUM storage location but continue to work in the original, then SAP lets you do it 🙂
