Dear Gurus,
We have currently a BPC Model and corresponding Dimensions in one of our BW system (BPC) and we want to copy this data to our BW reporting system (BWD).
We have somehow to create a datasources for the diferent InfoObjects and the cube.
The problem is that all BPC objects have /CPMB/ prefix which is not valid to be used as a DataSource.
We started transferring Master Data and transaction data to a copy of those objects (Cube and Infoobjects) and this is working fine, the problem is that when tranporting the BPC model and dimensions to the production system, the corresponding IDs won't be the same and our DTPs won't match with the ones in Development. (Assuming the Objects IDs are generated when transporting a BPC Environment from a system to another which I am not sure actually)
Do you guys have an idea of how we can do this? Are we going the good path? Is there alternatives?
NB: I need to have both Dimensions Hierarchies and the transactions of the bpc model "copied" from one system to another...
Thanks a lot for your input.
Bertrand
Hi,
Check below notes on how to stabilize technical names in different systems.
1689814 - Stabilize InfoCube's technical name in the modeling process
1847695 - How to stabilize infocube's technical name between two systems
Hope it helps...

Raju

FYI,
I just found a note regarding the technical names of the Dimensions InfoObjects.
Seems like it is possible to avoid them to change from technical ID.
So our solutions might work as expected.
But I am still interested if some of you have alternative solutions for the original problem.
Regarding the option via flatfiles, it is indeed possible, but I wouldn't know how to save the dimension hierarchies and convert them into BW hierarchies...

Hi,
maybe you already noticed http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-45088 very interesting!
Hi, we are about to do the same, plan is to use the standard BPC features to export Masterdata and Transaction data in flat files on server and then use standard BW features to import the same into BW objects.
Very interested in hearing other opinions on this.
