BOBI integration with Google Apps

Hi BO Experts ,

Can some one share information around BO intergration with Google Apps .

What i am looking for is

1. Integration details (technical)

2. Some documents how to implement this ?

3. SAP Help links around this .

4. Anything that would be helpful for us to explore and start working with BO tools .

We are moving away from Microsoft Excel and would start using Google sheets instead ..

Any inputs !

The question was about Google Apps.  Not Google Maps!

Agree Patrick Google applications integration with BO tools

I was looking at integrating the Google sheets with BO tools like Dashboard . We are not using  Microsoft Excel any more and  would be using Google Sheets instead . Esp in Finance area  where accountants use more of Excel .

I don't think so is that possible to work in BO toll like dashboard through the Google Sheets, Google Sheet is Cloud based application and it is not integrate with Dashboboard. even Open Office is also not support to create dashboard.

You have to use Microsoft office for Dashboard creation ...

and When ever you scheduled report in excel it will be open and work in Open Office and Google Spreadsheet too ....

Hi Zeenath,

As mentioned by Dhaval, this is not possible.

If you had Microsoft Excel I would then have suggested using Live Office but that's not the case.

Unless Google Apps supports getting data using a Web Service (which BO has) then you're out of luck I'm afraid.

Last comment on this!  Your question got me curious and had a quick look at this.

Google Spreadsheet does have functions to import data.  Have a look here: https://support.google.com/drive/table/25273?hl=en

I can probably think of a couple of ways to make it work.  Biggest problem will be the authentication to BO.  You probably will have to schedule outside of BO then import from those.

Thanks Patrick and Dhaval ! Will have to see how it goes, these discussions are in initial stages so if it doesnt work we have to stick to Microsoft Excel as its seamlessly integrated with BO tools .

Hello,

I think I know how you can achieve exactly what you want. In our organisation I have integrated Google Spreadsheets with BO Dashboards in a neat and hassle free way. We can even schedule the data extraction from Google Spreadsheets to SAP BO and can also fetch data from other Google apps such as Google Calendar into SAP BO. The best part is it's free, no third party software/ licensing involved (other than Microsoft, of course).

I'll be publishing a document on this on SCN soon (hopefully within this week) and shall paste the link to the doc here when it's ready.
