Hi Khan,

First to complete the managed system configuration in solman_setup for required system.( also complete the system preparation and basic configuration with out any error)

Then try the techmonitoring setup.

Also post the screen shot or error log.

Hi Younus,

This step will help to create a new Interface Channel, add an already existing Interface Channel to the current scenario or delete an Interface Channel from the current scenario.

Did you have interface channel in the managed system whick selected in step.4 define scope?

FAQ - http://wiki.scn.sap.com/wiki/display/TechOps/ICMON_FAQ#ICMON_FAQ-IsitpossibletomonitorRFCDestination...)?

Thanks Karthik,

Yes, created interface for the managed system, and also loaded script for availibility matric along with the application logs setup. if i don't get the RFC destinations in the value help for interface..will this cause for not having the data in ICMON dashboard ? as all pre-reqs(authorization in solman & managed box) are maintained.

Hi Khan,

Your configuration is not yet completed, creating channels and assigning scripts is part of the configuration.

Now you can add the interface channel to the interface tab as you given in the screenshot earlier.

Hope you created the interface channel for the Technical system which you chosen during the step scope. if yes, your f4 help must list out all the interface channel,

If al interface channel added, you can choose the monitoring scenario like availability monitor/ application log monitor from the tab additional configuration. If you added all the needed attributes for the monitor,

Then you can go for activation, only the defined interface channel in the interfaces tab are available for activation.

You can view the screenshots here ICMON_SETUP - Technical Operations - SCN Wiki

Thanks Jhansi,

interface is already created & based on the interface only i am inserting RFC destination  details & corresponding FM. Can ICMon UI pop-up aggregated data, only by inserting Function modules & keeping the rfc destinations empty or inserting the RFC destinations is mandatory?
