Contract Exists for this Service Message

A Service Item for which Contract already exists.

If I try to make a PO for this Service Item without referencing the Contract,

does SAP provide any message that 'Contract Exist for this Service', similar to what is available in case of Materials.

Hi,

Yes you will get an message but it will be for the Material group maintained in the contract & not specific to any service master no.

Hi,

If you are using short text only in PO, then system wont consider the contract and you wont get the message, as of my knowledge.

You may check the feasibility of the same with material group. If there is a centrally agreed contract  with short text and material group X and when you try to create PO with short text and the same material group X, the message ME 332, will be triggered.

Short Text would be at Item Level.

Item details will contain the Specific 'Service Nos.'

You can control this via material group.

Contract exists for this material group

      Message no. ME330.

Material Group would be high level definition.

I was looking for specific to a Service No.

Not possible for service number. Service number is totally different against purchasing document.

You have to use material group.

I also don't think it can be happens via any user exit, you can consult with your abaper.
