Obsolete Communication Structure

I get an error message P_S_COMM data object has no component when I try to load data to 0Material. There is an SAP Note 602318 which gives a solution. However, the solution refers to adding and deleting InfoObjects from the communication structure. There is no option for me to do this. I am entering the communication structure via the InfoSource. Is there an alternative option for me to add/remove objects from the communication structure? Thanks

Infoobjects can only be added or removed for an infosource for flexible update.

To change the communication structure of an direct update infosource, you will have to change the attributes of the master data infoobject.
