Restriction in PPOSA_CRM

Hi,

I have a requirement. I have 2 position say marketing and sales. I have 2 users say u1 and u2.

Now the problem is that.

u1 : Need complete access to marketing and display only access to sales.

u2 : Need complete access to sales and display only access to marketing.

How this can be solved through org structure?

Thanks,

Nitin Sherry

Hi Nitin

You manage by copying SAP Standard  Roles and modifying for the required purpose.

You'll basically need

2 Business Roles

1 Navigation Bar Profile per Business Role with the required functionality configured

1 Auth Role per Business Role with the required authorisation functionality per Role

Each Role should then be assigned to a Unique Position in the Org Model

Hi Arden,

In that case I have to create 4 business role and 4 position and then only user can be assigned to this position?

and if there comes another user say u3 who need access to customer care and partial acces to marketing.and this marketing access is more than just display and less tha complete marketing..I again have to create 2 new position and 2 more business role?

Is there some way else..which could reduce some effort?

Thanks,

Hi Nitin

It's a bit difficult to answer without understanding the full requirement, however this is typical of a SAP CRM set-up

You could  have one role only and manage entirely by authorisations, but I've not seen a scenario where the difference in functionality per user can be managed entirely like this. Authorisations is not designed for CRM in this way.

Typically functionality is divided up per Business Role / Navigation Bar and minor differences per user can then be controlled with authorisations.

On my current project we're implementing 12 Business Roles/Navigation Bar Combinations.

For each Business Role, they are assigned to a separate Position in the Org Structure.

So, you might have a scenario as below

Level 1 - Org Model

Level 2 - Org Unit 1

Level 3 - Position 1

Level 4 - Business Role 1

Level 5 - User 1

Level 5 - User 2

Level 4 - Business Role 2

Level 5 - User 3

Level 5 - User 4

Level 2 - Org Unit 2

Level 3 - Position 2

Level 4 - Business Role 3

Level 5 - User 5

Level 5 - User 6

Level 4 - Business Role 4

Level 5 - User 7

Level 5 - User 8
