I need to do the planning for my capacities on SAP MRS board but before that I need to understand the capacity planning like Capacitive planning, abstract planning etc. or in other words like if someone can explain the step by step how to do the capacity planning, explaining all this will be a great help.
Stretched Assignment:- The duration of stretched assignments is either exactly as long as or shorter than the time difference between the beginning and end of the assignment. .
Capacitive assignments:- you can assign a task to an employee that must be completed within a specific period of time mean the employee must have to complete the assignment in the given time framework & we can define some of alerts when the time is over.
Besides all the above you must be aware of that we get the available capacity form the defined work centers as per factory calender. Al these you need to define before you go for capacity planning in MRS, although in MRS 900 the shift based planing is also evaluated please explore.

Mr.Prakash,
Thank you for reply I gone through the link you have provided me its clear to some extent. I need some more clarity if you can please help me. Another question I have what is difference between MRS qualification & SAP HR qualification?
As per my understanding all are created in SAP HR through PPPM correct me if I'm wrong.
Also how do we sort out this scenario if we don't create contract employee as BP? Is there any solution in MRS? Please mail me if you have some documents at dubai.grewal@gmail.com
Hello Garry,
MRS suppports HR qualifications as well for qualification matching, suitable resources search as well as suitable demand search features. So you can use your HR resources with just the HR qualifications.
MRS qualification is an alternate option to HR qualification and also facilitates a few additional features in comparison such as structured and unstructured qualification matching, adjacent level matching and employee search.
You can find more information about standard qualification features here -> http://goo.gl/wdZ972
And on MRS qualification matching features here -> http://goo.gl/mlgrKn

Dear Garry,
Do you want to do the capacity planning in the PM. if that is the requirement we need to work more the work center, in which you need to maintain the capacities with the formula wise. Once you use this work center in the planning and when the orders are generated then check the CM01 then you can find the capacity of the work center.
Based on checking the capacities in the work center you can check the manpower and do the maintenance.

Dear Garry,
Please go though this link once http://help.sap.com/saphelp_46c/helpdata/en/b0/df293581dc1f79e10000009b38f889/frameset.htm
then you will get an idea.
Gary,
Available Capacity:
Capacities is driven from the work centre settings in the Capacities tab (specifically the button at the bottom of this tab). These values determine the length of the working day, breaks, number of workers and efficiency - resulting in the daily amount of hours available at the work centre.
Capacity Usage:
Order operations are then created and loaded with work centre and hours, and dependent upon the operation control key settings, will then start to "consume" some of the above daily capacity.
Here is a comprehensive PDF document on the subject
Hope this helps..
