After SRM 7.0 EHP2 upgrade we have intermittent UWL error Action could not be performed "Work Item not or no longer valid"?

Error occurs in upgrade testing in DEV.

EHP2 upgrade takes place on SRM server. NOT on the portal.

As a result of EHP2 testing the UWL error occurs when logging onto portal via ie8 browser as user1, logging off. NOT closing the browser but changing the portal logoff url to logon as user2. User2 approves user1 shopping cart. I suspect it has to do with IE8 browser settings.

Portal DSM logoff notification takes place from the client, not the server. This is consistent across the landscape.

This behaviour does not occurr in QA environment.

Your expert help is appreciated.

Hi There,

Just check if your tasks are set to general tasks in SWDS or in PFTC. Then Also check if the workflow itself has been set to general task.

If you will be changing users on the same machine i recommend you start a new session in your browser and not use the same browser instance.

we had exactly the same issue, it seemed to be linked to having too many open work items (either as the user you are logged on as, or if you are a subsitute for a user who has many work items.)

Once we cleared the inbox (by approving / rejecting most of the carts) the problem was resolved.
