Hello colleagues,

I have two doubts about customizations in OrgChar 4.0. it is possible that OrgChar Hierarchy sort employees alphabetically and other one it is possible that OrgChar Hierarchy show the Orgchar Boxes in differents colours depending of a SAP custom field.

I think it is not easy,

much thanks

Hi Albano,

The first one should be pretty easy. You should be able to sort your position hierarchy of the Organization Structure by incumbent name. Obviously, the employee name field is already part of the data element, so you just need to make it the default sort field. (Isn't it the default already? Or, I guess it's sorted by position title.)

The second one is a bit more work, but you can achieve it with the Variable Box XSL templates that I mentioned in your other post:

Obviously, you'll need to import the SAP custom field into the hierarchy data element first, either by modifying the existing one, or creating a linked detail (not usually recommended for performance reasons). Anyway, once you have the field available for your view, you can use it as the input parameter for the background colour parameter of the XSL template.

Cheers!

Oh, sorry Albano. That was not you who asked the question about the background colour earlier, it was in another post.

BTW, for your first question, you can change the sorting here:

Just go to the "Sort Fields" menu on the hierarchy you want to change the sorting, then click the "Add" button to chose the different field(s) from the dataelement that you want to sort by. Then make the new field as number 1 in the Order. You can add as many fields as you want, but it's best to keep it limited to one or two if you can.

Best of luck!
