Hi Ahmed ,

>Can i maintain authorizations to the portal through the >R/3?

Portal Role is different from R/3 Role .

Simply, Portal Role provides you the framework.

R/3 Role only determines what to be displayed inside the framework.

For Example , if u create an Personal data Iview in Portal, This Iview Role shd be assigned to the Portal Role ..so that he can see the Entry point.

Once this Role is assigned the Content for this Role is provided by R/3 .

Hope it helps .

Hi,

ESS BP contains the 'Leave Request' iView through which an user can submit the absence detail. This will trigger a workflow (ws20000081) which generates an email to the approvers inbox.

As such there is no inbox in ESS. Use UWL for configuring the approvers ibox, so that through portal the manager can approve/reject the leave details.

Check out for this doc "How to Configure the Universal Worklist" in SDN. Using this you can configure the inbox into portal. Hope this link works,
