Hi all,
I am working on a scenario which need different modes of transport like road and rail, we want to plan forwarding order from source location A to destination location D. We defined two routes between A and D, first route is using transshipment location B and C, that is A to B to C to D as a route, and all are using road. Second route is using transshipment location rail_1 and rail_2, that is A to rail_1 to rail_2 to D, and from rail_1 to rail_2, we are using rail, and from A to rail_1, and rail_2 to D, we are using road. The requirement is that we want to display both route in the transportation proposal for the forwarding order, and compare which one is better.
However, while creating a forwarding order from A to D, if we select road as a transportation mode in the general data, the proposal only shows first route, which is road only. If we select rail as a transportation mode in the general data, the proposal only shows second route, which is combination with road and rail. If we don't select a transportation mode in the general data, we will get an error that transportation mode is missing, planning is blocked.
Is there any way we can display two kinds of route in one proposal?
Hi Jenny

Hello Jenny
Standard way its not possible untill you change the creation strategy used in fwd order, (Transportation mode not mandatory). Even if you did i am not sure whether VSR_DEF strategy will read ( ideally it should)....I will try to get some information on this.
Secondly What i would do is....create two fwd orders with same requirements but different means of transport. and then take them into selection...run transportation proposal then i will be able to see which is the best means. But in this case one will be redundant.
Also there is something called quick transportation cost quote functionality....did you try that???
As only tran-shipment location run is different here...
