Make "Releases" tab available for all incident groups

Hi all,

In new EHSM Incident Management solution, the tab for "Releases" is only available when incident group type "Release" (EHHSS_IGR_RELEASE) is selected.

Does anybody know if it is possible to make the tab available for all incident groups, and not just for one? And also for Near Misses and Safety Observations?

I was checking the "Field Control" IMG activity, but all i have found there is some fields in Basic Information tab which are dependent on the Release incident group... but not the tab itself...

Any ideas?

Hi Irene,

The tabs displayed in the Floor Plan Manager (FPM) are linked to the incident groups config. i.e. the tabs have been hard-coded based on the incident types e.g. EHHSS_IGR_RELEASE.

My recommendation is that you would likely need to enhance the EHSM classes and raise the event the corresponding event to show the RELEASES tab.

Have a look at class:

CL_EHHSS_INC_OIF_CNTRLR_NEW

I am not sure which service pack level you are on (but you would need to enhance one of these methods) with the corresponding code:

The name of the tab you should display is MAINVIEW_4:

thanks for your answer, I was expecting something like that...

I cannot understand why SAP doesn't make this part configurable in SPRO... Wouldn't it make a lot of sense that, since you can define your own incident groups, you could as well decide which tabs have to be assigned to each of the groups? Just thinking out loud...

Hi Irene,

I agree with you, the implementation of EHSM requires significant technical skills (understanding of Web Dynpro, Floor Plan Manager, Business Object Process Framework BOPF, Field control configuration) making it quite a technical implementation.

On our project we had to use the enhancement technique to add additional Tabs to the incident processing. We included "Quality" , "Security" and "Operational Process" tabs.

The challenge we had is when we upgraded from EHSM 3.0 to EHSM 4.0 the underlying classes changed so we had to re-factor our enhancement code - not fun

Completely Agreed with you Irene, SPRO settings should be made more configurable to which tabs should be visible at the start itself.

I had a similar kind of requirement for which I wrote a determination at root to select the release group, so when an incident is created the RELEASE group is selected and RELEASE Tab is visible.
