Conversion Routine

Hello Gurus.

I have the data in the infoobject. But i didnt put "ALPHA" in the converstion routine. there is one transaction code by which i can set the "ALPHA" "RSMDEXITON" . i executed that function. But when i went to see in the obect definition i couldnt see the "alpha".

Q1. After running the RSMDEXITON" will the data already inside the object changes?

Q2. After running the RSMDEXITON" will the data for the future upload be in proper format?

Hi Srikanth,

Just check the help (there is a button for it) in the transaction.

Hi Srikanth,

I am not sure on that. I guess after running the transaction you would be able to change the conversion routine in the Info-object. RSD1 -> Info-object -> Change the conv rouine to ALPHA.

I tried to change to Alpha after running the transaction but its allowing me to activate the object. I received the msg stating that i am not allowed to do that as it already contains data.

Thanks Dinesh that is a lovely and clear information. thanks for your quick and easy reply. but my second questin is for the future data

Q2. will the data for the future uploads will be loaded with ALPHA converstion as i cannot see the conversion in the infoobject definition after running that transaction? or do i hve to execute this transaction after every upload in future?

From an old post I recall that it would not cause any problems. You could wait for some more suggestions though.
