Use of CATT/ECATT by UK SAP sites

My organisation National Air Traffic Services are investigating the use of CATT/ECATT for testing during the implementation of ERP, future SAP modules, upgrades and hot packs. This may be with or without SAP Tutor or other software such as Test Director. We would like to establish contact with another SAP UK site that has done this successfully and is using these tools on an ongoing basis.

Hi Extended Computer Aided Test Tool is for Basically "Process Testing". we can test web based applications, we can test transactions in SAP with Controls ( which was not possible with "CATT"), we can test programs and Function modules. here we can test a processing scenario which needs different sap servers are involeved. We can use this tool for Load Testing also.

For Upgrade and Hot pach testings SAP has Provided Other Tools.

Thanks,

Thanks Jaffer for the information. I'd be interested in the other tools that you mention for Upgrade & Hot Pack testing. Do you know of any UK sites that have successfully implemented ECATT?

Hi Paul!

I successfully implemented an eCATT with allocation creation, purchase requisition, purchase order, goods receipt process flow.

I'm not sure, where your technical problem might be. Your questions looks much more like an organizational effort (Am I willing to spend a lot of (programming) time for proper testing?).

You are right to a certain extent Christian. What we want to do is to find a UK site which has implemented ECATT, perhaps get a demo and understanding of the problems, benefits and issues arising, in order to avoid them and utilise this experience in our own implementation. We have an intensive implementation programme over the next 18 months and want to try and get this as right as we can without impacting too much on the programme deadlines. Interested to hear more about your own experiences with implementation.
