Inventory Report with Unit Cost, Qty and Value

Hi,

I have entered an A/P Invoice for an item with Qty as 3 pcs and Unit Cost as Rs. 10,000.

In the Inventory Audit Report, it shows the Cumulative Qty as 3 and Cumulative Value as 30,000. But the Cost column is blank. If I expand the black arrow, it shows document wise Cost. But I want to know the Cost per Unit of the Items in Stock. Currently, I have to manually divide Cumulative Value by Cumulative Qty to arrive at the Unit Cost.

Is there any report in SAP B1 which can show the Unit Cost at Item Level, instead of Document Level?

Thanks.

Hi Rajesh,

Inventory Audit Report is the right way to see item cost. for this you will have to set you setting (manage item cost per warehouse).

Hi Rajesh,

Please advice your valuation method. Are you looking for this?

Valuation method is Moving Average. I am looking for the above report only, but it shows Cost Column only in the document level rows. At item level, it does not show the Cost.

In the above screenshot, in Row 1, the Cost column is blank, so we can not come to know the overall cost.

Hi Rajesh,

What do you mean by document level or row level cost?

For example, I have 3 A/P invoices for an item:

A/P 1: Purchased 100 Qty at 1000 Rs.

A/P 2: Purchased 100 Qty at 1500 Rs.

A/P 3: Purchased 100 Qty at 2000 Rs.

The Inventory Audit Report will show the Unit Cost for each document, but it does not show the overall cost in the row where the item name is displayed. SAP B1 displays Cumulative Qty and Cumulative Value, but does not show the Cost of the Item.

Basically the Cost which is shown in the Inventory Data tab of the Item Master should also be shown in the Inventory Audit Report.

Hi Rajesh,

Yes possible in inventory audit report. Please refer below screen shot selection criteria for inventory audit report.

Refer current item cost in standard inventory audit report.

Well thats good to the extent that something is better than nothing. But even if I have multiple warehouses for logistical reasons, I will like to know the Current Cost of an item across Warehouses i.e the overall Current Cost instead of Warehouse wise Current Cost.

For me, it is as simple as Cumulative Value divided by Cumulative Qty. But why should I have to do it manually when I have a state of the art ERP solution!

How can this requirement be fulfilled? If customization is absolutely necessary, is there a simple way to achieve this .. may be getting hold of the underlying system query and modifying it? It may or may not be possible .. I am just thinking aloud.

Anyway, something is better than nothing, so that helps !

Hi Rajesh,

It all depends on basic initialization of the sytem. If you select manage inventory per ware hous, the inventory audit report will show each warehouse and its item cost.

If you selected under Basic intialization tab, then item cost will be calcualted across all warehouses.

Refer another screen shot show each ware house and its cost:

Are you preparing for exam?

Ha ha .. No I am not preparing for exam. I am preparing for my first implementation for a customer who will be migrating to SAP B1 from Tally.ERP 9, which is one of the most popular software in India. Such reports are available in Tally, hence this question.

I will create another database by not selecting Manage Inventory by Warehouse and generate the report and get back to you.

The point is even though I will like to know the inventory qty, cost and value by warehouse, I will also like to know the overall qty, cost and value across all warehouses. If I have 10 warehouses, I dont want to be doing the calculations manually.

When it is as simple as dividing the Cumulative Value by Cumulative Qty, why is SAP not showing it? And what is the least effort way to get it done with or without using SDK?
