Interaction Record is created for the contact person even after the validity period

Hello Experts,

We are using EHP2 Level 0005 system. I have created Interaction Record for one account and I can see the same IR in the Interaction History of both the account and the contact person and vice-versa.

Now, I have changed the "Valid To" date of the contact person to a month back such that it is expired. Again, I have created the IR on both Account and contact person. Both the IRs are still seen in the Interaction History of Account as well as Contact person.

Is there something else missing to end the relationship correctly so that the IR created for Account is not displayed on the Interaction history of Contact person which is not valid now ? Or is this the standard behavior?

It would be of great help if you can respond asap.
