Special Procurement 60 Phantom in Planning is not working

Special Procurement 60 Phantom in Planning does not appear to be working and I have reviewed all of the threads on this site including thread: http://scn.sap.com/thread/1865953

According to SAP's Demand Management document (PP-MPDEM), page 76 “Stocking at Different BOM Levels" you can stock 2 levels below Finished Goods by populating Special Procurement 60 Phantom in Planning on the Sub-Assembly Material Master.

In our system  Sub-Assembly PTM25252 has Special Procurement 60 and Individual / coll. indicator = 2 collective.

Planning BOM/Material PRISMAPLUS-PM1 which is planned with Strategy 63 (Planning with a Planning Material) contains the component Assembly PTM25252.

Saleable BOM/Material PTM06112110 which is planned with Strategy 63 points to planning Material PRISMAPLUS-PM1 and also contains the component Assembly PTM25252.

I expect Sub-Assembly PTM25252 to be planned but not made/stocked until a sales order is received for Saleable Material PTM06112110. I expect to stock the components of Sub Assembly PTM25252 with requirements driven down from the forecast on the Planning BOM/Material PRISMAPLUS-PM1 and then when a Sales Order for PTM06112110 is received we will finish off PTM25252 and the next level which is Saleable PTM06112110.

However, this is not working.  We are getting MRP exception messages on the planned order for Sub-Assembly PTM25252 telling us to convert it a production order and we do not yet have a sales order for PTM06112110.

Has anyone made this work in our scenario?  Thank you very much.

Hi Ann

Please change the Individual / coll. indicator to 1 and test again.

System should generate VP planned orders, which are non convertible, however, they cannot be managed under collective stock.

Wow Caetano!  Thank you. Your answer is bang on.  It works now that I have Indiv / Coll = 1 for the Sub-Assembly.

Thank you again.  Good work.
