Compatibility Error importing Repository schema into higher version

Hi Sap Friends

I am here facing an issue in importing the Repository schema of MDM 7.1 SP06 into MDM 7.1 SP09.

It says an error message as Version Incompatibility.

Can you please suggest me to get my schema imported into MDM 7.1 SP 09

HI Shifali,

I dont think you can directly import the schema from SP06 to SP09 version.

You will have to update the repository of SP06 version to SP09.Then you can export and import the schema in SP09 version.

yes, understood that schema import cannot be done into different versions.

we did a workaround to get the same schema in to other environment.

@Nisha : I think We update the Repository when an archive from lower version to higher version is moved.

Hi Shifali,

When you unarchive the repository from lower to higher version then you have to update the repository.

After this step itself you can export the schema as per SP09 version and then import the same.

Can you give me this in steps..

as the repository in  MDM 7.1 SP06 is with huge data, I cannot move it to other env , that is the reason wante to export only schema.

Hi Shifali,

Archive the repository of SP06(schema only) version.

Move this archive to SP09 server and then unarchive a new repository using this SP06 archive.

Once the new repository is created you can update this to SP09 version.

After the repository update, export the schema and import it to required destination.
