Dear Experts,

We are 100% complied as far as SAP multiple logons are concern. We have implemented 100% single signon logins in our firm. Now we have some doubt about it. Pls read below scenario:

We have two marketing head in our firm. Both are using same login. One is using this login from 10:00 am to 02:00 pm and other one is using it from 02:00 pm to 06:00 pm. There are no multiple logons. Is it legal or not? Does any one has authorized document for it.

Shaligram

Hi,

I would suggest it would depend on the action that are performed by the user.

Do both the user perform the same action?

Is this id acting as a group user id? If yes then i think this is single user license.

But it more depend on what kind of action are performed by the user id.

Thanks

Hello Rishi,

Both the users are performing same tasks.

Does SAP has any guidelines for this?

Hi,

Sorry mate i don't have any doc but i know most of the time when sap does auditing they ask logs from transaction usmm that does measurement of the user license . Sap uses these logs to check user licencing.

Thanks

As far as I know there isn't a rule that an SAP system user shouldn't be shared with another person in the company.

SAP will taken into consideration if there were multiple logins with the same user as they will be able to audit it. For sure there will be a charge incurred for practices like multiple logins.

You should consult with the SAP contract manager and seek his advice whether this practice is permitted by them.

I haven't come across a rule that restricts the sharing of a user in an SAP system.

As long as this is OK with the company security polices then I believe it should be fine.
