Should GEOLOC fill for manual transaction address change?

In a CRM transaction on the UI, in the Parties Involved assignment block a BP address can be modified to that transaction.

in table CRMD_PARTNER field ADDR_ORIGIN will have value = B (instead of A) and the ADDR_NR has a new value.

In table ADRC I can put in the ADDR_NR from CRMD_PARTNER, I can also go that BP # from BUT020 to get the addrnumber of that BP.

In ADRC if I enter both the addrnumber from crmd_partner & from but020 I can see the BP address as well as the manual address adjusted in the parties involved assignment block. All makes sense.

But if I go to table GEOLOC only the address number from BUT020 exist.

We will have a business requirement to GEOLOC / GEOOBJR the manual address in the transaction. Trying to see if this will have to be an enhancement to update these tables.

I would have thought that other businesses would also need to Geocode a manual transaction address i.e. drop ship address, at the moment we have this response from SAP on how to approach.

The BAdI ORDER_SAVE can be used to do that. It offers a method

PREPARE in which you can check the addresses and invoke the geocoders.

Please note that the BAdI interface only provides the order guid, not

the order content. It has to be read via function module CRM_ORDER_READ

    from the internal buffers.

You can also have a look at the example implementation

CL_EXM_IM_ORDER_SAVE to get an idea how to do that.

How the geocoding of addresses can be done should become clear if you

Thanks for the support, I'll look at updating that wish list page.

In our industry, construction, want to geocode where the potential construction is at in the opportunity (building, bridge, power plant, etc ..) is easy enough to add a partner function and the address. Creating a new BP doesn't feel like the right solution, especially if the BP needs created before updating the opportunity.
