Converting the se71 prg to original program

Hi,

I am trying to change the original language of the program RVPICKSIN(Picklist) from DE to EN in my copied program but that option is disabled. Why is it so ? and what is the way that i can change it to go ahead and make changes.

Hi,

One quick way would be to create your custom program first in language 'EN' and then copy the source/texts over.

I also tried one more thing, but I only got a chance to do it if the target is a brand new program ie. never created in the system even once.

In transaction SE38

First, Copy the SAP program into your namespace and then follow these steps exactly.

First, Activate the new program from the main screen SE38 screen.

Then, Select the "Attributes" radio button and click on "Change"

You will get a popup and the middle button should say "Change orig.language".

Click on that and then follow through.

Try with a dummy target first. If that works, then you can rename the target to whatever you want.

I am talking about the se71 program and not se38.

You would need to change the original language while in the original language of the sapscript form. For example, if the original language is DE, edit the sapscript form in "DE" and change the original language to EN.

In SE71, enter the name of the form in question, enter "DE" in the language field, now you will be able to convert to "EN" using the menu path.

oops. Sorry. Wrong answer.

When you said program, I was thinking it was a driver program to a sapscript layout.

You meant Layout set.

Here is the correct one.

In your custom layout, go into change mode with DE as the language (on the first screen of SE71).

Follow the menu path

"Utilities->Convert Original Language"

and you should be able to do this.
