Merchandise planning and F&R

Former Member

I am looking at the SAP F&R solution as an add on to SAP ERP Retail.

As I understand it, Merchandise Planning within ERP Retail provides MRP functionality, to ensure the right quantity of products is provided to stores and DCs. So, if F&R is used, would this replace the MRP functionality of Merchandise Planning?

Thanks for any help with this...

Hello Bob

within ERP Retail there are 2 possibilities to replenish stores and DCs: the 'classic' MRP (which is not Retail specific but can be used by Retailers as well, typically for DCs) and Retail Replenishment (this is primarily for stores). Both can be based on forecasted demand or use static target /reorderlevel procedures. This is in general comparable to SAP F&R but this solution is more advanced, e.g. it can forecast promotional uplift, events etc.

Hope this helps
