erp6 ides upgrade - SPAU 2000 objects to adjust

Former Member

Hello,

i upgraded SAP ERP6.0 Ides system to the new SP in the same maintenance i installed the Addon SCMEWM9.0. In SUM i'm acutally in the post-process and got prompted to do my adjustments with the SPAU transaction. Well first this is strange because we have no adjustements in the system this is a brand new ides. Anyway i have to adjust 2127 development objects -

I compared some objects and because this all standard from sap i have no idea which version i should choose. So do i have to choose in every object the new SAP Standard which was imported from the upgrade?

Thanks for you help

Tobi

Hi Sommer,

Best approach for an IDES system is to reset to original. This will pick up the upgraded version for all the affected programs and objects.

While testing if you find any issue , fix only them.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

Did you take a screen shot of SPAU before applying the support pack. So it might be that these object are there before support pack . So my suggestion is leave it as is as they are not SPDD objects if you have not taken screen shot as you are not sure that your upgrade caused it or all these were there in IDES before hand..Just keep in mind that IDES had data for testing functionality and if you are resetting all these object some functionality will not work.

That is the reason you usually apply support pack in IDES versions.

Thanks

no i didn't take a screen shot of the spdd transaction. What happens if i do nothing in SPAU and use the system without adjustements?

Thanks

You have 14 days of time to perform SPAU. After that you will need a developer key for that.

Check this document.

Hi,

As there is no time enforcement on SPAU. SUM tool says that 14 days and then you need developer key .

What are using this Ides for? Testing or just working on new functionality.

See there are Pro and cons.

But if you dont know how many object were there before then its difficult to suggest as it might be that we might not be able to use the updated functionality or we might not be able to use the existing functionality.

Try to leave them as is for now and test some of the thing that you working on . See if you have issue and if you have issues try to  go in SPAU and see with the adjust button if the code coming after the adjust will help you or reset will help you.

Well the system will be used for development and testing in EWM and ERP. How does it works after the 14 days? We have no service contract for the system so i cannot create oss messages?

So i summarize I do the note ajustments. Test the system and if any error occurs i have a look in spau and check the object.

Can continue with the SUM installtion without the adjustments?

Yes and also if developers are trying to develop some thing they should also check if there is updated version of the program in SPAU . Can reset that to original and adjust the code while they are developing.

Thanks

Well the system will be used for development and testing in EWM and ERP

Then you many get hold of a developer and ask him/her to check and do the needful.

Maybe i didn't see the logic behind this but why i have to check the standard code provided by sap? We as customer cannot see all the sideffects from a function call or a report!

Can i continue with the SUM installation?

How does it works after the 14 days?

I already answered you this. You will need a developer key.

To get a developer key the system should be registered in the SMP and there will be an installation number.

You request developer key from this link.

http://service.sap.com/sscr

We have no service contract for the system so i cannot create oss messages?

SAP provides an S-user for valid installations. With this you can connect to the SMP and create OSS messages, request license, download installation media, SAP notes, installation and upgrade guides, etc.

I am not sure in your case.

Can i continue with the SUM installation?

You can continue with the SUM. But for the SPAU phase you may read my previous replies.

If you check the SPDD and SPAU guide I have provided you initially, you will be able to perform SPAU.

Whether there will be any side effects or not, I cannot give you an answer.

Good Luck
