Archival of Equipments - PM_EQUI

Dear Friends,

We have a requirement of archiving equipments. Need some help on the below queries.

Where can I set residence period for the object PM_EQUI... Because there is no option to set residence period in the SARA-Customization screen.

We have crores of Equipments to be archived, and we do not know the exact equipment numbere which needs to be archived. Is there any option in finding out the Equipment numbers to archive, OR is there any better way of archiving?

Any easy method of archiving equipments?

If any one has idea on my queries, Kindly help me out.

--> Since this is master data there is no residence time required and there is no option available for residence time, you can directly archive the records.

2. We have crores of Equipments to be archived, and we do not know the exact equipment number which needs to be archived. Is there any option in finding out the Equipment numbers to archive, OR is there any better way of archiving?

--> This is master data and so there will be no date range option will be provided , you have to select the equipments and have to manually provide it in the input screen. But first you need to run the pre-processing program so that it will give you the list of eligible of Equipments by setting the DLT status indictor. After pre-processing you can run the write process for the equipments which has already processed successfully by the pre-processing. This way you can find the elgible equipments which can be archived.

3. Any easy method of archiving equipments?

--> You can run archival based on Equipments category or by Material number, but in this process all the equipments are considered for archival which is eligible for archiving.

Is there any specific process of selecting/Extracting the Equipment numbers which needs to be archived? Do i have to consider the Equipments only with the DLFL status.. If so how can I get them?

We are also archiving the Serial Numbers by passing archived Material documents (MM) and Delivery documents (SD). Can I get the Equipment number from the Serial numbers?

--> Preprocessing program will help you in setting DLFL status to the equipments which are eligible, so i recommend to select equipments for a period and provide it in the preprocessing program and the equipments which full fills the criteria will get DLFL status and this equipments can be further selected and archived in write process.
