Import table from Data Services 4.1, Need Help :(

Former Member

Hi DS Expert,

Two days ago I installed DS 4.1 by uninstalling DS 3.2.

I've followed the instruction in "Supplement for SAP", but when i tried to import table from SAP to my repository, i got error:

RFC CallReceive error <Function /BODS/TABLE_IMPORT: RFC_ABAP_MESSAGE, You are not authorized to perform this activity>

I've imported K9xxxxx.R63 to SAP also.

Is there any other file that need to be imported in SAP? Since I used DS 3.2 as the previous version.

Thanks.

Thanks All, we have found the solution for this issue which is by granting the SAP_ALL authorization to the ETL account.

Hi Daya,

I have established connection between ECC to BODS by creating SAP Application Data store. And also performed pre requisites  (Copying Co files and Data files in Transport directory). When I create it didnt not showed any error. when I try to see External metadata it is showing only Extractors, I ma not able to see Tables,Vies---other objects. I am getting below error

Error:RFC callreceive Error <Function/BODS/RFC_ABAP_INSTALL_AND_RUN: RFC_ABAP_MESSAGE, you are not Authorized to perform this activity)- you are not Authorized to perform this activity[SAP NWRFC 720][SAP Partner 731][EH6] ----------(BODI-1112368)

If any one come across this kind of issue, kidly guide me to solve this issue.

Hi Deepthi,

Can you please provide me below details:

  • Have you checked RFC is working fine in SM59 TCode in SAP systems.?
  • If not you can also check the logs in SM21 TCode in SAP systems and find out the solution for the issue.
  • Is that RFC is configured in SAP Business Objects Data Services Management console.?

Thanks,

Daya

If you want to connect SAP system then there are many ways

One of them is RFC , If you want to call BAPI function in Jobs then you have to configure above Transport method (RFC).For more details please refer

Calling RFCs-BAPIs:

Run the DataServices 3.2 RFC Server:

Hi Istimawan

After installing the SAP Business Objects Data Services 4.1, you need to re-create the RFC connection on the management console just like usual.

It was not mandatory to deployed transport files again in SAP environment. You can use the old files also.

Can you please check the below points on SAP Server and BODS Server.

  • Try to connect RFC server on SAP Systems using below TCode
    • SM59  and check the status of RFC, Please close the RFC on SAP BODS 3.2 data services management console.
  • If you face any error to connect the RFC then use go to below TCode and check the logs
    • SM21 and pass the user information to check the logs on SAP Server.
  • Try to do the same steps in SAP Business Objects Data Services Management Console
    • Check the RFC status is running or not in SAP BODS 4.X data services management console.
    • Then login in BODS designer and pass the SAP details in data store and try to connect.
  • Then after doing all these activity try to import the Tables in BODS 4.X designer.

And also refer below Links:

Thanks Daya, but I'm using SAP Application as the datastores type in DS 3.2 or in the new DS 4.1.

Yes But before checking in SAP Business Objects Data Services Designer 4.X you have to configure the RFC in SAP Business Objects Data Services Management console.

Please refer the link and thoughts that i mentioned in above post to configure.

Consult your SAP BASIS Team. Or check in your datastore what information you have entered for SAP application datatstore.

SAP Gateway Hostname:  Is your SAP Application Server Name please put the IP address of your SAP Application Server name.

SAP Gateway Service name: If your client is 50 then SAP gateway services name will be sapgw50 by default it was sapgw00

Thanks,

Daya
