Zoom option

Hello,

Wondering any zoom option available or work arounds.

I have a horizontal bar chart that shows values from $11mn to $3250. Even after putting a slider the smaller value $3250 don't show up, not even an indicator that the value exists.

Any work arounds to show the smaller values.

Arun

Arun,

I don't see a very good business reason for stacking a amount like 3250 stacked up with an amount of $11 mn.. Also its will make more confusion for users as well..

You should rather create component trigger by toggle button to get the top 10/ botton 10 (or top half/Bottom half) or based on any categories which might be relevant to be stacked up or shown together in the same chart...

As far as zoom is converned you will need to develop your custom component with flex to allow that.. But still how that will be useful for a very skewed number set is debatable...

Hi,

Actually i am doing like what you said. I am displaying top 10 values ranked, and all the remaining in others. But the numbers shows up depending on the country and year.

Thanks,
Arun

With the slider enabled, users have to zoom into to see the lower value bar/column.

You can also try using logarithmic scale if that works.

Here are two options you can try

Runali,

I have the slider enabled in my original chart, but the issue is when relative values are small, you cannot see the bar or even a line on the chart. So users won't recognize that there is a value unless they mouse over.

Need to do some custom settings.

Thanks,
Arun

Did you try the log scale? You won't need the slider.

Runali,

I have tried the log scale also, but it looks very cluttered.

I saw one blog some time back where you can expand a chart and minimize it with ESC button. I am looking for it and trying to do that.
