Java Application Window warning in XMII workbench

Dear Experts,

Since yesterday we have started getting a 'Java Application Window' warning on the top right corner of the XMII Workbench.

This happens for many users in our system but strangely not all.

Because of this error any copy paste operation, import/export, expression evaluation etc. does not work any more.

I feel it is some issue related to client Java version or some settings that might have got changed.

I currently have Java version 1.6.0.30-b12 (on client machine)

XMII is 12.2.5 build 80

Any pointers to the solution would be highly appreciated.

Dear All,

The issue was with a custom action we deployed that was not correctly JARed.

After un-deploying it the 'Java Application Window' was no longer appearing.

We re-assembled the custom action later and then it started working fine. So, this was the solution to this thread. Posting here for the benefit of all.

Closing the thread now. Thanks!

Hi Saumya,

this is just an additional security warning

from Java telling that the Java Application has not been signed.

Due to recent vulnerabilities in Java, security restrictions

and warnings have been tightened. This simply means, the workbench

and/or other MII applets are not digitally signed. Open an OSS for it.

Maybe this is a good time for SAP to start to sign the MII applets?

Anyone, Mike, Jeremy? Will the MII 14 applets be signed?

Cheers,

Matt

Hi Matt,

Thanks for your reply. The only thing that I find strange is that the workbench opens fine for few of the users in the same network while not for the others.

We all have the same Java version installed on our client machines.

Any clues?
