URL iView and QuickLink

Former Member

Hello,

i'm trying to access a Portal iView via a QuickLink.

The iView is of Type URL-iView and is assigned to a role.

If i try to display the iView via the Role-Navigation target like

http://myportal:port/irj/portal?NavigationTarget=ROLES://portal_content/roleAssignedToiView

the iview is dispalyed.

I want to give the user a more easy to use URL so i tried to create a quick link by assigning a value to the Quick-Link property of the iView.

But when i try to access the iView via the Quick-Link-URL

  http://myportal:port/irj/portal/myQuickLink

then i become forwarded to the default portal start-page and not to the iview.

For me it seem's as the portal is ignoring the Quick-Link completely...

Does anyone have an idea what's wrang here?

BR

Andreas

Hope the role is assigned to you,as you may be aware, Quicklinks work only when the iview/page that contains the quick link is part of a role assigned to the user

HI Veera,

indeed i saw this as a problem in many other posts, but for my current situation the role is also assigned to the user i'm testing with. So i think this is not the problem.

Hi Andreas,

Did you checked the checkbox "entry point" in the role?
You have to open your role where your iView is in and on the line of the iView you will see a checkbox "entry point".

You also have to follow the below rules:

The following rules apply to quick links:

  • Quick links must be composed of only URI unreserved characters, which are letters, digits, hyphen (), period (.), underscore (_) and tilde (~).
  • If you assign a quick link to an invisible node, the page is displayed but the top-level and detailed navigation iViews do not highlight the nodes in the selected path.

Hi Fouad,

your hint regarding "Entry Point" was the solution. I didn't check the entry point checkbox on the iview.

Thank you!

Andreas
