Go see the SAP Trial Software, either Netweaver Developer / Trial Edition OR SAP HANA Express Edition ... link

These days, there are some guides / documents on installing the Trial Edition ...

There's also the option us use SAP Cloud Appliance Library, which is a system running on an AWS or MS Azure "pay-per-use" instance ... link

Nic,

Thank you very much for the links.

Are these 'Developer' editions are fully functional ? I am developer having IT background, but I want to show the demo to higher management, they are fully functional, not technical.

Both these editions are NOT the full ERP-Suite : this means they do not illustrate the functional use of all the SAP Modules for different Business Processes such as Materials Management (SAP MM) or SAP Finance (FICA). In comparison with Northwind-DB there is the 'SFLIGHT'-datamodel you can load up in Netweaver ... See this (old) Blog on its intended use : link

And for the HANA Editions, there is an Educational Package which can be uploaded, so you can demonstrate / do exercises on the HANA-version. This comes as the "SHINE"-datamodel, which is downloadable and incorporated in an OpenSAP-course ...

You can get a current source on working on the HANA / SHINE system, via this OpenSAP initiative : OpenSAP is an online Learning Platform for getting acquanted with (new) SAP-technologies and products. See the OpenSAP course "SHINE Reference for Native Development" : link

Important notes :

  • Personally I always struggeled with the setup of these Trial systems, especially when doing so on a small, local machine (home-laptop or whatever). Since you are mentioning the DEMO to Management, I'm sure you can get Buy-In to have access to a proper (Virtualized) performant system ... But still, getting the system up and running usually is quite a challenge (atleast it was to me) ...
  • I do believe (as you can also gather from the info in the linked content), that these Trial-systems serve as a means to Show of a Technology and experiment in, rather than having a functional system) ...
  • Both Systems have a 'trial period', so you need to active the systems via some Link and Register there. Normally you are able to renew your subscription ...
  • In the old days (Netweaver install) this Trial system was referred to as "MiniSAP", so if you want to decide to use that system, you can also use that in your (Google-) search when having issues ... However, I would suggest to go for the HANA-Trial, as this actually is the (Present and the) Future of SAP.

Hope this helps ...
