Multiprovider Issue

I still continue to solve the mystery as to how i am getting inaccurate data when i drilldown. From the investigations i have been doing, these are the inferences. Correct me if i am not right!

As the multiprovider, gets data from actual cube(A) and plan cube(B) which have couple of characteristics NOT common in both, so when i drilldown on any one of these characteristics, i am getting a JUMP in the data i.e more than the top level. I observed that in the Multiproider IDENTIFICATION screen that these NOT common characteristics are being pulled out from their corresponding master data. Not sure here. I guess i am correct!

Question 1: Will this cause a problem??

Then as i found that planning was not done on all the objects which are present in the actuals cube.

Question 2: How should i eliminate the data i.e like some materials, which are not planned from seeing in the report, as i guess are coming from the actuals cube. Can i do some kina restriction?

Please suggest what could be a possible solution.

PS: Bhanu sorry for getting back to you so late on this as i was stuck with a lotta other stuff. Appreciate your patience.

Thank you all.

    Hi Roger,

About Q2: Having char that are not being planned on should not be a problem. You can certainly remove them if you do not want to see the actual numbers by these chars, but their removal is not required.

About Q1: How are the NOT Common chars populated in their base cubes? Are they navigational attributes in the base cube?

      Another MultiProvider Note

A MultiProvider query terminates with the error

"Error program SAPLRRK0 and form RSRDR;CHECK_NAV_INIT_BACK".

      A further possible symptom:

A query on a MultiProvider returns incorrect data.

      Other terms

OLAP, query, MultiProvider, check flag, wrong data

      Reason and Prerequisites

The problem is caused by a program error:

If a MultiProvider query is executed in parallel, the error described above may occur.

As a workaround, you can switch off the parallel execution of the partial queries for the MultiProvider on the individual part providers.

      See Note 449477.

Looks like Q2 was changed, so: For this you can only check mark you planned cube in the multiprovider identification. Do not check the Actuals cube for this char.

    Hope this helps...
