Task fails because of no user assignment

Hello at all,

I have a problem with a custom task. I am trying to forward a DECISION Task to an agent by using the 'USXXXXXXXX' (IT0105 Subtype 0001 Username) Value dynamically to the Expression part of the agent who receives the DECISION.

The Value is declared as SWP_AGENT:

Now I get the warning that the task has no assignment to a user:

So I tried to change the task to "General" by changing it in the maintain agent assignment:

The problem is, I don´t need an agent assignment because of my Value. But when I put the task to "General" I got the failure SWF_RUN 611 because of that task (seen in SWI1). The Workitem is not forwarded to the User who is selected by the value in Agents expression.

Can U please help? Thanks!

Hi,

One point here I would like to raise is , why you would like to make the task as General task, when you are already fetching the agent. Do you have any scenario where the user/Actor/approver will forward the work item to any other users. You can also avoid the warning. Basically teh significance of the wraning is "if in case the rule determination fails and there is no fallback actor or workflow admin who can forward it some responsible, then it could become that the workitem remains as orphan".

Thanks,Pavan

Hi,

Is the system set up for workflows? Check transaction SWU3

With agent assignment you either create it on task level, or you use general task and provide the agent as an expression in workflow binding.

After making the changes, please refresh the organizational buffer SWU_OBUF and retrigger the workflow.

The agent assignment in the Task Properties is not active. Define it as general and try it again.
