I have a descision to make hope you guys can help me out.

I have 4 master data objects M1, M2, M3, M4 without any attributes such that M1, M2, M3 are compounding attributes to M4 and M1, M2 are compounding attrs to M3 and M1 is compounding attr to M2. I have to load the data from a table thru a generic extractor from R/3. The attributes and texts come from different tables. So, I'll have one datasource for attrs and one for texts.

If I use a flexible update infosource then I an unable to create update rules for the info objects(I have made them data targets), because when I am assigning the infosource it throws an error saying "The infoobject does not have any attributes".

But if I use the Direct Update for the info source then I should create 4 datasources for attrs which would be identical and 4 identical datasources for the text. Identical because the source is the same table from R/3 and the filtering is done at the infopackage.

What do you think would be better, creating 4 generic extractors and 4 datasources/infosources ?

Try to use the flexible update, which I am not able to ?

Thanks for the patience.
