2LIS_13_VDITM u0096 Creation Date Selection (RSA3)

From RSA3 I am running a test extract using the Created On (ERDAT) field. For a particular year I would expect to get about 17,000 records since this is the number of records for VBRP for that year. However, the extract gives me more records which includes records outside the range. Why is this and is there a setting/change that I can make to resolve? Thanks
