E-Rec - Mail verification link for external candidate not working

Dear All,

We are implementing E-Rec(NW 7.0 E hp.2 ) and ECC 6.0 (E hp.6) .

As per the e-rec procedure, in case external candidate apply for a job in portal , first thing is to candidate registration.

After registering with username and password , one e-mail verification link mail will go the particular candidate's mail id.

Now , there are two scenarios:

1. Before applying SSL, External candidate registration and mail verification was happening correctly through LAN.

2. After applying SSL, External candidate registration is happening but mail verification is not happening through public IP ( Outside of LAN ).

    a. When we are verifying through public IP , One message is coming - ' Server not found ' .

    b. When we are verifying through LAN for the same case ( No. 2 ) , SAP log on page is coming .

     

So, as per the scenario, is it necessary to change the URL of the mail verification link ? if yes, then how and where to change and fix this.

Please kindly help in this regard and tell if any additional information is require.

Hi Deepak,

Make sure that in transaction SICF following services are maintained with following settings:

unregistered service user assignment and procedure "mandatory with logon data":

• /default_host/sap/bc/erecruiting/verification:
• /default_host/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/ hrrcf_a_candidate_verification

Hi Nicole,

Both the mentioned services were already activated in SICF tcode and as you mentioned i have assigned unregistered service user with " mandatory log on data " .

But, still the problem is happening. For your understanding,  let me explain it again -

1)I am using the following URL to register a external candidate :-

https://careers.<companyname>.net:1443/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/hrrcf_a_candidate_registration?sap-clien...

Once I have registered with email Id, i am getting a link on the registered email ID to verify the email.

When i click on verification link it redirects to the page whose

screenshot is attached in my previous post.

Note:-If I make following change then email got verified:

http-->https

<abdev>.<companyname>.com-->careers.<companyname>.net

1080-->1443

These settings are intended as We are using SSL.

Now the problem is we want to change the URL link to https for

verification.

Verification mail should contain this URL:

https://careers.<companyname>.net:1443/sap/bc/erecruiting/verification?param=Y2FuZGlkYXRlX2hyb2JqZWN...

instead of this one:

http://<abdev>.<companyname>.com:1080/sap/bc/erecruiting/verification?param=Y2FuZGlkYXRlX2hyb2JqZWN0... ,

then , i am able to verifying a candidate's mail .

But, this is not happening.

Hi Deepak,

If you want that the URLS are configured and built in a certain way you need to adjust table HTTPURLLOC (http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/59/31ae42e0fac911e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm).
