How to monitor Solman-productive?

Hi experts,

we would like to use technical monitor of solution manager.

And I know, I can also monitor the own instance therein and there is also the possibility of self-monitoring.

My question now is, how do you ensure that Solution Manager is running?

Do you use a third-party tool for this (e.g. nagios?

Thank you

Hello Christian,

Easy one. The answer is YES coz no system can trigger an alert when the system itself is down.

For this monitoring, you must go with an third party tool and nagios is a good option.

Nag.

Hello,

It can be monitored if the system is available:

The Availability monitor context is stored in the CCMS monitoring
segments which belongs to the central monitoring system and because of
this on the central system only the local auto-reaction methods can be
used for the monitoring nodes which are located in the CCMS monitor
segment of the central system.

Please configure a correct local auto-reaction method (copy the
central auto-reaction method and select "Periodically in dialog process"
in the 'Control' tab and "Auto-reaction" in the 'Release' tab) and
assign the auto-reaction method to the Availability monitoring nodes
by using the transaction RZ20.

   -> Select relevant node
     -> Properties
        -> Go to
          -> Method assignment to MTE class
            -> Change

can not use the central auto-reaction methods for monitoring nodes
which belongs to the central system, like the CCMSPING availability
monitoring nodes. For these nodes the local auto-reaction method should
be used and for the local auto-reaction method the configuration always
needs to be done in client 000, as described in note #176492.

you can also use CCMS for this, but little lengthy process

1. you need to connect your SOLMAN system to other system

2. create an auto-reaction method and

3. Assign it to ERP ABAP Application Server>>. R3 basis system

when ever the system goes down, it will trigger an email.
