Error while importing CoA data through DTW

Former Member

Hello,

I am trying to import CoA data through DTW in SAP 8.81, but getting following error -

Illegal parent number Application-defined or object-defined error65171

In Excel sheet (.csv), parent number of the first title account is 100000000000000 (ASSETS). But it is displayed as 1.00E+14

Is this causing the error ?

Please suggest.

Nikhil

Hi Swapnil,

I have tried entering the G/L account that has the father code 400000000000000 (REVENUE a/c),

but it shows the following error -

This entry already exists in the following tables  'G/L Accounts' (OACT) (ODBC -2035)

I am able to import Assets & Equity accounts successfully, but not able to import Revenues & Expenses accounts.

Hi Nikhil,

Add Entries for Account code R01, R02, R03, R04, R05 manually which has father code 400000000000000 and remove that entries form this CSV file after that try to add other entries by DTW this will solve your issue.

This issue generated because of that cell type of CSV .

Hi,

Please refer SAP note section 2.1

865191
- DTW Troubleshooting Guide

  • For a non-segmented account, the account code key (for
example, 9000) is normally the same as the account code (9000).
  • For a segmented account, the account code key (for example,
_SYS00000000011) is not the same as the account code (122000000100101). You need
to find out the account code key from the OACT table.

Thanks & Regards,

Thanks to all for the suggestions.

I have changed the parent number for some of the accounts and able to import the data successfully for

the ASSETS accounts. Previously, some active accounts were given the parent number of active accounts, so there was an error i.e.  active accounts should have the parent number of title account only, so i changed the parent number & then the data was imported successfully.

But, now i am not able to import the data for other accounts i.e. REVENUES & EXPENSES,  getting the same error again

Illegal parent number Application-defined or object-defined error65171

Pl suggest...

Hi,

If you are concerned about the 100000000000000 in the field, then check the Excel for the option 'Number' under the Home Tab and custom it to 0 as follows and see the result.

Check if above helps.

Kind Regards,

Jitin

Hi,

Please check in you template whether ActiveAccount column (Postable field in OACT table) specified is an account which is an Active account or just a Title - tYES for active account and tNO for title.

See if that the issue with your import.

Kind Regards,

Jitin
