I have come across several references to Digital Asset Managment (DAM) with respect to the portal but can find no information.
Does KM support DAM?
I believe that CRM 5.0 will support DAM but I can find no references to how.
Does anyone know any answers?
Thanks
Patrick

Hi Patrick,
actually, CRM 5.0 has realized its DAM solution by re-using KM (or actually a repository manager incl. TREX access to the CRM document repository). This includes specific authorization checks on CRM meta data, etc. .
But as Paul outlines above: DAM is a generic term that tends to get fuzzy so it might be helpful to check if CRM 5.0 fits to your use case.
If you 'only' want to use thumbnails on pictures with the usual KM services, the standard FlexUI configuration of KM might do - details in NW documentation on help.sap.com (search for thumbnails).

Joerg

Hi Patrick,
as Digital Asset Management seems to me as a abstract term, I would say that KM supports DAM in that sense that
- it offers unified access to your digital content (the Repository Framework allows integration of nearly any kind of media library within the portal)
- if offers an integrated set of capabilities, like searching, viewing, editing, sharing documents.
In that sense, KM supports DAM.
What do you expect from DAM and what would be your use case you would like to use KM for?
Best regards,
Paul
