SAP Work Manager Localization override files

Hallo Experts,

we are currently testing the SAP WorkManager Application. The application

is in english but our customers want to have it in german. So we found the

steps in the documention, so the "doing" is no problem.

The question is, if SAP provides complete translated localization files in german ?

Thank you for your help.

Regards,

Maximilian

Maximilian,

There are two types of SAP Work Manager. One is for IBM and one is for SAP backend. As far as I know, translated localization files were given before to customers. You only need to open a Service Market Place message.  I know the IBM version have several localization files already for the older ones. For SAP, the Work Manager 5.3 or earlier may not have it yet but the new Work Manager 6.0 for SAP coming out within this month has like 15 different languages (Localization files) pre-built or supported (The SAP team of translators did some work on it).

If you open a Service Market Place message for Work Manager 5.3 (2012 version) SAP may probably say we don't have it due to this was at the same year of the SAP aquisition of Syclo and there are lots of integration going on (one of which translation was not part of it yet).

If you assume that you can just take the new one and make it work for the old one may not fly. The reasoning for this is each version of Agentry that was used for the product may be different (in version) so the compatibility of the localization may not work if you copy from one version to the other.

Supported versions released around Q2~Q4 2013+ may more likely have localization built in (SAP Translation department works with our SAP development department for translation).

Mark

Hallo Mark,

thank you very much. I will try it with a Service Market Place message and let you know if it was successful.

Max,

Just one tip I found very useful.

In the officialWork Manager docs (Overview and Configuration Guide), it mentions an option called "localizationsPath". This not correct, the correct name of the option is: "localizationPath".

Hope it helps.

SAP Work Manager 6.0 will include additional localization and language support. I think German as well. Version 6.0 will be general available in a matter of days.
