Hi All,
In our business the materials are planned on monthly basis.
I had created a requirement for a material for the month of November 2013.
The scheduling Type is forward.
But when I run the MRP the system is scheduling the order in the month of December 2013(December 1 st) and proposes rescheduling to the current month(November 1st).
I unable to understand the behavior of the system as why its not scheduling in the current month or from the current date.
Can you please explain me the system's behavior?
Thanking you in advance.
Regards
Richie
Dear Richie Ravi,
During MRP run by backward scheduling if the order start date lies in the past, the system
automatically switches to forward scheduling, wherein the system uses the current system date as
the order start date and schedules it forward.
So in your case based on the lead time of the material, as the order start date went in the past and
start in the past is not allowed in the respective plant, the system automatically switches to forward
scheduling with mentioning the rescheduled date as the requirements date and so your able to see
as 01.11.2013 and the system displays the order finish date for the planned order - 01.12.2013.

Dear Mangalraj,
Thanks for your reply.
If the start date is in the past the system could have scheduled the order from the current date as the start date and could have scheduled accordingly?
But it has scheduled the start date as 1.12.2013 and proposed for a rescheduling.
Please explain on what logic the system has picked up the start date as 1.12.2013.
Regards
Richie
HI DB49,
I changed the settings in OMI4 for scheduling as requirements date= delivery date.
Now the order is getting scheduled from the current date.
Earlier the setting was to start the order from the period start.
Since the order start period in the past the system has scheduled in the next start period which is December 1.
Please correct me if I am wrong.
Regards
Richie
