Change depreciation key

Hi,

We have an Asset whose acquisition date is 01.11.2005 and the useful life is 8 years. So, this Asset will have an end date as 01.11.2013.

The straight line depreciation method(dep key- LXPN) was used for all the years and for the year 2013, depreciation has already been posted for 10 months. If he continues depreciation posting with same key, then negative values start coming. The user wants to avoid this, he needs the Asset to reach ZERO Value.

So, the user wants a different depreciation key to be used starting Nov 2013, so that he can bring the Acquisition value to Zero.

The new depreciation key which is suggested to be used is "JLX5- Str.-line deprec. 5 years to zero". So, to change the depreciation key, we would be using the below procedure, please advise if below is correct procedure:

1. AS02

2. Go to the depreciation area tab and double click it.

3. Under more intervals, add new interval 01.11.2013 and add the useful life as 5 years and save.
