Hi,
I have a BO 4.1 System with SP1 and i wanted to test the functionality to see my scheduled Inbox items.
I Scheduled therefore Crystal Reports as PDF and Web Intelligence (as PDF and Web Intelligence) to my BO Inbox.
I also copied the documents to my favorite folder.
I can see the files and Instances via Launchpad BUT - I can't see the items in my mobile App on iPad (Version 5.0.7)
What have i done wrong ?
I right clicked on the documents in Launchpad and enabled the option "Display on mobile" in the mobile Properties.
The documents are in the mobile category.
Are there any other prerequisites ??
The only thing i want to test is - if the Inbox documents (once they are loaded) are available for offline usage ?
I hope someone can help me out.
Thanks and best regards
Manfred
Hi Manfred,
Hi All,
I see that there is a problem here. Scheduled WebI Reports will never show in the iOS App's Inbox, because they are Instances. Once scheduled, you get an Instance. And this is something the App does not work with.
If you want to work with the BI Inbox in the App, please right-click the report(s) and click on Send to > Inbox
There you can select which users will see the WebI reports and this works. The BI Inbox in the App get's populated only with real WebI Reports, not instances.
The Guide is a bit short in explaining this in detail, but the Guide also does not say anything about scheduling to BI Inbox in Mobile, so this is by design. Maybe in future this will work? Scheduling to Mobile BI Inboxes I mean...
Kind Regards,
Javier Puig

Actually cant believe this! There is no point in having the BI Inbox for the Mobile App?
The whole idea of this for me was to schedule reports to send to directors without the need to spam their Email account.
Im gonna come unstuck when i have to explain this doesnt work as i said it would.
Was everyone else under the impression this is what it done?
To Manfred, All:
Hello,
The "Schedule to BI Inbox (BI LaunchPad/Mobile)" is the main workflow we had in mind when we decided to support the BI Inbox from the BIMobile app.
The idea was to enable a kind of PUSH mecanism for BIMobile, by providing the IT/end users the ability to schedule WebI reports directly into the BI Inbox, which will then be automatically push/downloaded into the BIMobile Inbox, for an offline consumption, whithout any action into the BIMobile app.
As of today: this workflow is broken into the following versions, due to a Platform bug :
- BI4.1 SP01
- BI4.1 SP02
A bug has already been created. A fix is "planned" for the Patch2.4 for BI4.1 SP02 (ETA = March 2014, week #12).
If you try the same workflow with a BI4.0 SP06 or SP07 or SP08: it will work perfectly, as long as you select the option "Display on Mobile" into the "Mobile Properties" (BI LaunchPad >> Right Click on the item) for the given WebI document.
Hope this helps.
Best regards,
Gregory

Hi Alex, Hi Javi,
Thanks Alex for putting this into idea.sap.com and thanks Javi for clarifying that !
As Alex already mentioned it would not have come into my mind that scheduled reports (instances) are not shown - because that is the main reason to receive automated running reports. I voted for your idea and hopefully everybody else with this problem will vote also !!
Best regards and thank you very much - will assign points immediately
I too cannot see Inbox docs on iPad but can on launchPad,
I am on BI 4.1 SP02 and Latest Mobile client.

I also tried it but with no luck - i tried all different kind of source formats in my publication.
I also opened an incident, but nobody has taken care yet
@Alex Cruickshank also reported from problems with BO 4.1 with SP2.
I will upgrade our system in January and see if the problem is resolved with it.
Or by having someone from Active Global Support looking at it ?!?
Keep you updated.
Best regards
Manfred

Hello Manfred,
Did you follow the steps outlined in Note 1885250?
There are other steps listed

Hi Tammy,
Yes indeed - i followed the steps - but the documents do not appear in my mobile app
Do you know if there are any server settings necessary for this feature ?
For my server storage of passwords on Clientside is not allowed, but i don't think this will influence this feature ?
Thanks and best regards
Manfred
Hi Tammy,
Step 3 is located on the mobile app. And i've set those Auot-Refresh.
I also tried to manually refresh my Inbox on my iPad.
Both with no success.
Did you get to run this feature already ?
I just saw that there is an update available - i will test and get back.
Version 5.0.13 seems to be out
I just had a look at the new BI App - but still there are no entries in the favoritefolders or the BI Inbox folders on mobile

Why not Vote for it to be added at Scheduled Reports in BI Inbox : View Idea
