NetWeaver Dev Studio Install Problem/Question

I downlaoded the NWDS for Stack 13.

I downloaded SAPCAR.

I am not sure where to run each of these.

Where does SAPCAR need to be in your directory structure?

I am extracting the NWDS archive file from a directory named C:\TempSAP. It is being extracted within the SAPCAR directory structure in a subfolder named J2EE-RUNT-CD\IDE.

The extraction proceeds until I get the following error:

SAPCAR could not open for writing ./J2EE-RUNT-CD/IDE/eclipse/plugins/com.sap.ide.webdynpro.checklayer/docs/api/com/sap/ide/webdynpro/checklayer/componentif/ComponentInterfaceImplementationImplementationChecker.html (Error 28) The system cannot find the path specified.

Any ideas?

It doesn't matter where you put SAPCAR.EXE, though it's comfortable if it's part of the PATH.

There is a maximum password length in Windows, try putting the .SAR in the root dir of your drive and extract from there. You can use the -R option to specify the output directory. Type SAPCAR without arguments to get a complete list of all available options.

I had the same problem with the Dev Studio SP 19.

Colocate the sapcar. exe and the .sar in root,

then the extraction will be completed.
