Primary Cost Component Structure Activated, Split in PCC not correct

Former Member

Dear Friends,

I have created a primary cost component split using transaction OKTZ and have assigned the primary cost elmenst and assessment cost elements to the different cost component as required. Furtehr to this, I have assigned the secondry cost elements associated with the activities to one cost component group as technically required. I now run the cost centre planning, calculated activity rates and made the cost estimates using transaction CK11N. The Cost estimate so proposed by the system shows the composition of activity rates in differnt cost components as desired. But, when I do the production for the FG material that was costed the PCC shows only the cost component that contains original cost elemnets that are associated with the activity and is not showing the composition of the same.

Can anybody let me know if where I went wrong as I was especting the system to show the cost components in PCC as designed in OKTZ and as they are getting derived while costing the material.

Please let me know the same at the earliest.

Regards,

Anurag Gupta

Hi Anurag,

Did you assign the primary cost component structure in the Version under Price Calculation tab. Later, do activity price calculation to get primary cost elements values.

Also, follow the below links where I have given the complete steps:

Dear Sriniwas,

Thank for your reply. The primary cost component structure is marked under the version settings for price calculation already. As I mentioned that CK11N results are alright. The rates calculated are correct. The problem that I am facing is in PCC where the cost components are not showing with relevant values. Only the cost elements associated with the activity are being shown but since primary cost component is activated, the amount should get split in the respective cost components showing the composition of activity rates.

The same is happening when creating cost estimates but is not correctly shown in pcc. What is it that I have missed or is there any standard table that needs to be updated in order to overwrite the previous structure.

Dear Anurag

I am sorry I could not get your query properly. If you can post screen shots of what is coming and what is required then I may be able to comment.

Dear Rajneesh,

I have tried to explain the step by step process I am following and the issues I am facing:

Costing done for FG material as per the screenshot below:

The itemization for this product is displayed as follows:

The cost component View “ Cost of Goods Manufactured”  is displayed as follows:

After this step, the cost estimate is marked and released. After this calculate Cost button KKF6N is run to calculate the preliminary cost estimate for the PCC.

The following result is updated.

We then run the report KKC_PKO to see the cost component view but the same is displaying only the cost elements that are linked to activity and are grouped under the same cost component. The composition of these activity rates should flow to respective cost components as primary cost component split is active. It should flow the same way as in CK11N  as shown above. But this is not the case.

I hope I am able to make my query clearer. Let me know in case you need further explanation.

Thanks for your advise and support.

Dear Anurag

What I can see is there is difference in Activity prices of Labor and Power which is further divided in Direct and Indirect during CCS. Right?

Cost component structure gives you the opportunity to present your cost figures in more effective way. While defining CCS you always try to present your cost figures in most descriptive manner.

Please check that what cost elements you have considered in activity price calculation the same you have defined in two separate cost component while defining cost component structure. For example for calculation of Labor Activity rate you may have considered 40000000-40000001 cost elements where as while defining Cost component for Direct Labor you assigned there 40000000 and for Indirect Labor you assigned 40000001.
