Guidance on navigation

A couple years back when I took the Intro to SAP ERP course for instructors, was using the SAP GUI. Preparing to teach a couple classes using the SAP Easy Access Net Application and am reminded that the navigation across the top differs somewhat from that in the SAP GUI (from which I have exercises showing across the top a search bar and various controls that do not appear in the Net Application). Am wondering where those controls can be found in the Net Application screen?
