Dear Experts,
May I know whether the job status got failed is it possible to send mail alerts in the free version?
Please clarify.
Regards,
Raja. G
Dear Raja G,
You need the mail.module to be part of your license to send even basic email alerts, please check your license details in CPS under configuration -> license. If you do not have this module you cannot send mail alerts.
If you have mail module you can use job definition system_mailSend, to send emails based on job status.

Hi Raja,
No, not necessarily. You could write an ABAP to send the spool files to your recipients ... it is much more work, but possible, and schedule that with CPS.
As you probably read in the documentation, in CPS with a paid license it is as simple as adding a job to a job chain and filling a few parameters. That and you are no longer isolated, can use scripting, import/export objects, and, best of all IMHO, you can monitor and control your entire datacenter from one central scheduler.

Hi,
yes am aware of the steps in paid version.
However is it possible to use the SAP mail functionality of SAP system to send mails even the scheduling will happen from CPS.
We have only free license so i just thought of how easily we can achieve the mail recipient.
If anyone tried out this scenario please provide your inputs.

Raja. G
Hi,
Sorry, I just thought it was not worth it.
I have not done it, but looking in google you can find ABAP code exmples for sending email and reading spool files, combine the two!
DISCLAIMER my ABAP skills are not that good, though.
You can schedule whatever you want with the free version of CPS, as long as you build everything in ABAP.

HP
