Sneak Preview SAP NetWeaver 04

I am interested in potentially downloading and testing with the "Sneak Preview SAP NetWeaver 04, ABAP addition with SAPGUI".

Before doing that, I'd like to make sure that this download contains what I expect. I'd like to be able to have a stand-alone SAP ABAP environment where I can experiment with some ideas using RFC calls to call out and use data from some non-SAP applications. Basically, I want to do some proof of concept testing.

Is this a complete environment, or are there other pre-requisite SAP components that I must already have running or installed? Will the use of RFC even be available to me?

Thanks!

    Hello Dick,

the Sneak Preview ABAP fits exactly to your needs. You can call RFC enabled function modules from external using the libraries provided by SAP and others. What you can not expect are any functional modules of R/3 like Logistics or Finance. But you have the famous BAPI's of the Flight Demo:

    BAPI_FLIGHT_CHECKAVAILIBILITY

    BAPI_FLIGHT_GETDETAIL

    BAPI_FLIGHT_GETLIST

    BAPI_FLIGHT_SAVEREPLICA

which should be fine for testing.

    Regards

    Gregor
