Can't connect to Excel

Soory if this ground has been plowed before, but I cannot find a "Search" function on this forum.

Anyway, I just downloaded the CR 2013 30 day trial and am attempting to connect to a simple Excel 2007 .xlsx workbook. I select "New Report", then select "Database Files" from the tree, I cannot select .xlsx as a listed filed type (because it's not there), so I select "All Files", click on my workbook, and get an error message that the connection has failed because "No database connector has been specified".

How do I connect?
