How can I get (or reset) the password my hanatrail account?

In order to set up the hanatria server in IDE Eclipse, I need a password for my account. But I live in SAP's SSO world (as SAP employee)

I already tried what I read in an earlier thread that gave the following hints:

  • The user store for hanatrail is identical to SCN user store, e.g. I need a password for my SCN account, but I don't have any as I am using SSO.
  • Use URL to get to login page (having disabled client certificates in my browser): http://scn.sap.com/login.jspa and use ' Forget your password ?' link, which triggers an email incl. reset password link.

Unfortunately, no emails is sent to me, although I certainly have an SCN account.

Any advice is appreciated!

Cheers,

Frank

Hey Frank,

I just tried it and got the email right away. Could it be that you have misspelled your email address?

Please check also your junk folder - sometimes filters would catch those emails. It should be from notification@sapnetworkmail.com.

Hi there,

for some reason the password email is sent to me now and I could successfully reset my password. When triggering the email via the 'Forgot your Password?' link, the response in the browser was

If an account exists for {0}, an e-mail with a link to reset your password has been sent.

now it is:

'If an account exists for frank.rambo@sap.com, an e-mail with a link to reset your password has been sent.'

...and the email is sent. For some reason it didn't take my user name (email), which I did correctly spell (taken from pre-fill list). Very strange, but that's life 😉

Hi Frank,

You should do this with a browser that either:

1. Has not your certificate imported

or

2. You have configured to ask you every time before using the certificate and you reject the certificate usage when asked.

In addition if there is a session stored and you are logged in although not using the certificate, you should log out.

Kind Regards,

Alex

Hi Alex,

I have my IE9 configured to confirm each time my client certificate, which opens the way to the logon screen with the 'Forgot your Password?' link. That's not the issue.

The issue is that using the 'Forgot your password' link, no email is sen to me, which should normally happen.

Cheers,

Frank
